Hello Kitty Island Adventure is heading to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, according to Nintendo Everything. For a cozy life-sim that built its fanbase almost entirely through word of mouth, having it confirmed on both of Nintendo’s current consoles is a nice reminder that Sanrio’s charm never really goes out of style.

What we don’t know yet
Nintendo Everything’s report nails down the platforms, but a few details are still missing. There’s no official release date attached to this news, and pricing for Hello Kitty Island Adventure hasn’t been confirmed either, so anything you’ve seen floating around social media on those two points should be treated as unverified for now.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
What stands out here is that Hello Kitty Island Adventure isn’t just being squeezed onto the original Nintendo Switch as an afterthought, it’s also lined up for Nintendo Switch 2. That puts it alongside a wave of titles using the newer hardware to smooth things out without changing what made the original experience work in the first place, similar to how Cities Skylines Switch 2 Expanded Edition leaned on the hardware bump for its own relaunch.
Why Hello Kitty Island Adventure keeps growing its audience
The appeal has never been complicated: decorate your own island, befriend a lineup of Sanrio characters, and putter around at your own pace with no timer pushing you along. That kind of low-pressure design tends to outlast flashier, louder releases, and seeing it officially land on Nintendo Switch 2 suggests whoever’s behind it still sees room to grow the audience rather than let the game quietly fade out. Whether that eventually means smoother performance, extra content, or just a wider reach is still an open question until more specifics get confirmed.
