Mark your calendar, because it just got a lot more crowded. Ace Combat 8 is officially out today, and it landed the same week as Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered — which means your backlog isn’t just growing, it’s staging an ambush.
What happened
Ace Combat 8 touched down today across platforms, giving fans of the aerial combat series a new entry to dig into right away. At almost the same time, Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered rolled out on all platforms, bringing the classic hack-and-slash back for both longtime fans and players who never got to experience it the first time around. Two very different genres, one very packed release window.
Why it matters
Release calendars have a habit of clustering big names into the same week, and this is a textbook example. If you’ve been waiting on a proper Ace Combat sequel, launch day is the moment to jump in before spoilers start circulating. Meanwhile, Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered landing on all platforms simultaneously means there’s no “wait for my console” excuse this time — whichever system you’re on, it’s there. For anyone trying to keep a backlog under control, this is exactly the kind of week that derails good intentions.
What to expect
Expect the usual day-one rush: early impressions, comparison clips, and players arguing over which game deserves your limited free time first. Ace Combat 8 is the newer, flashier pick if you’re chasing a fresh campaign, while Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered is the nostalgia play for anyone who grew up mashing through hundreds of enemies at once. Realistically, most people won’t finish either this week — but that’s the backlog problem in a nutshell. Prioritize based on whether you want new-and-unfamiliar or classic-and-comfortable, and don’t feel bad about letting one sit for a bit.
