Doctor Doom is becoming a fully playable character in Marvel Cosmic Invasion through a brand new DLC pack, according to gematsu.com. Honestly, this is the kind of roster addition that makes a beat-’em-up click: nothing says “controlled chaos” like unleashing one of Marvel’s most arrogant villains on his own stage.
The DLC is called “The Siege of Castle Doom,” and it doesn’t just hand Doom a playable slot — it also brings Invisible Woman into the fight. Based on what’s been shown, Doom gets his own dedicated game mode along with a fresh set of abilities built specifically around his magic-and-tech hybrid fighting style, something we touched on in our earlier piece on the Doctor Doom DLC coming to the game.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion Doctor Doom DLC: what’s in Siege of Castle Doom
Castle Doom is obviously the centerpiece here, and framing the DLC around Doom’s own fortress is a smart narrative hook — it turns the villain’s debut into home-turf advantage rather than just another guest appearance. Pairing him with Invisible Woman also hints at a story beat tied to the Fantastic Four rivalry that’s always made Doom such a compelling antagonist in Marvel lore.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion Doctor Doom gameplay and new abilities
What’s most interesting is the promise of a Doom-specific game mode rather than just a reskinned moveset. If his abilities genuinely lean into magic and technology rather than pure brawling, that could shake up how Marvel Cosmic Invasion‘s combat feels compared to its existing hero lineup. It’s a bold swing for a beat-’em-up format that usually keeps everyone on fairly similar footing.
